Lauryn Lowe — Stanford ’22, B.A. Creative Writing

Hi there,
I’m Lauryn.

I’m a Stanford University graduate with a B.A. in Creative Writing, and a current premedical Masters student. I’ve spent years living inside personal essays — my own, and the ones I’ve helped friends, classmates, and now clients write.

I specialize in helping students bring their stories to life — with clarity, warmth, and impact. Whether you’re stuck on how to start, or you want help polishing the final draft, I’m here to help your essay sound like you, but better.

What we’ll work on together.

  1. 01

    College Personal Statement Editing

The big one — your Common App essay, your UC PIQs, your “why us?” For students writing the essay that opens the door.

  2. 02

    Supplementary Essay Support

Those 150-, 250-, 650-word prompts that quietly do the heavy lifting. We’ll make every word earn its place.

  3. 03

    Grad School Essay Editing

For applicants stepping into med school, MFA programs, law school, and beyond. Your story is more layered now — and your essay should sound like it.

  4. 04

    Real-time Coaching via Google Meet

Live sessions where we write, revise, and talk through your ideas together — not feedback sent into the void.

Three things every
great essay does.

i.

Capture the liveliness of your story.

The moments only you could have lived. The voice only you have. We’ll find them and let them breathe.

ii.

Clarity & tempo in expressing your passions.

An essay isn’t just what you say — it’s how it moves. We’ll tune the rhythm so the reader stays with you the whole way.

iii.

Stand out amidst the sea of applicants.

Admissions officers read thousands of essays. Yours has minutes to land. Together, we make sure it does.

Real words
from real drafts.

The reason I really love working with Lauryn is she genuinely invests in each assignment and task and my overall growth. I look forward to each session because she is such a great listener and really knows her clients. She understands how to draw out my best in my work, and she sees my potential to grow in each session. I have noticed a significant difference in my performance and my confidence in my critical thinking and how I express my thoughts on paper. I can’t think of anyone better to recommend than Lauryn, especially considering the applications can feel inundating, and she really cares to make the process smooth and wants to see everyone succeed. She is someone to trust!

Lauryn has a way with words that’s genuinely rare. She has this knack for listening to someone’s story and pulling out the thread that actually matters–the part the person didn’t even realize was the heart of it. What sets her apart beyond the talent is how seriously she takes the work. She doesn’t just show up to a session and wing it. She puts real thought in before and after, making sure the people she works with walk away with something they couldn’t have written on their own.

Lauryn is the best storyteller I know. She has a rare ability to take a mundane topic and make it the most interesting thing you’ve heard all day. This gift is exactly what makes her an exceptional essay coach and why she’s been the go-to person for writing support. What sets her apart beyond talent is her dedication. I’ve seen firsthand the time and care she puts in before and after each session to make sure the people she works with get real value.

Lauryn’s own path navigating both the humanities and sciences gives her a unique vantage point at a time when strong applicants need to demonstrate range across domains. And perhaps most importantly for a process that can feel overwhelming, Lauryn is warm, approachable, making the hard work feel a lot less heavy. I couldn’t recommend working with Lauryn enough!
